Very Close to Due!

Working on this game has been a ton of fun. I want to share some of the progress, but this is not the final post for the game. I’ll try to spin up another post right before we submit it. We only have a day and 16 hours to submit our unfinished game, so we are riding the line a bit.

The Name

If you saw the GitHub project, this game used to be called space-tennis-game because we had no idea what we were making when we started. I remember hearing from my brother years ago that you should name your projects after you make them, that it was supposed to make it easier, but I found it was just as challenging. So I quickly came up with a name and we decided it would be fine. That is Mechoid Deflectoid!

Old Progress

When we started making progress with the game, it was necessary I had to write an AI, so enjoy a gif of the first AI programmed in the game, back when there were a quarter of the assets:

I appropriately named this file awesome_ai.gif on my desktop.

Conclusion

Well, anyhow, this was just a short post. The longer post will be the post-mortem when we publish the game. Thanks for checking it out, and if you’re interested in helping me make free games for Linux with Godot, you should go to my profile and send me a Discord friend request! Or email me, or text me, or whatever else.

See ya later!
